Trail Overview

East Buffalo Pass is a seasonally open well-maintained gravel road that is rocky in some sections. It's much smoother than the west side of Buffalo Pass. Travel west to east if coming from Steamboat; it will take you to Kremmling. After winding through the switchbacks, the road levels out at the Grizzly Guard Station before reaching pavement a few miles later. Incredible views and camping opportunities are at the top and along the route.

Expect a steep grade. Some loose rock with ledges at the top make it a rough ride.
