Started at around midday. The conditions were very nice. Some SXS on the trail along with hikers. The horses were close to the trail surprisingly. 3/4 of the way is mostly a mix of sand and rock until you get to the beginning of the steep climb up to the look out which for the most part is lose rocks and a single track that is deteriorated and had used 4L going up and down. The look out is breathtaking. Be mindful of some trails up at the top that could mis-lead you to the edge. A nail biter if you’re afraid of heights. Have fun and be safe !

Solid, short trail. Easy for the most part, with a couple of ruts and rock features in the bottom that require some articulation. I would rate this trail at around a 4 or 5 in comparison to similar difficulty trails I’ve run in Moab. Completed in a stock Chevy S10 and a stock FJ Cruiser with no issues. Completed in almost exactly 2 hours. Would not recommend doing when wet. Take care while in the wash to make sure you don’t miss where the trail turns up out of the wash. We missed it and drove down the wash a couple hundred yards further. Not a big deal but puts you on a different trail. The shelf road is steep and off-camber in spots. I could see this being an issue if you are very afraid of heights. The views on top are great, and if you’re feeling extra motivated I think you could hike to Mt Garfield pretty easily from the end of the trail.

There were a few tight/rought spots on the trail, but pretty easy going. Managed to see some wild horses. And the view from the top was amazing.
