Trail Overview

This route climbs from the Elk Lakes area through a challenging and diverse range of terrain, including a shallow water crossing, muddy hill climbs, rocky and deeply rutted sections, slickrock, and a major rock obstacle featuring ledges approaching two feet in height. The trail demands careful line selection and solid off-road driving skills throughout. Only experienced drivers in well-equipped, high-clearance 4WD vehicles should attempt this route. Those who do will be rewarded with beautiful scenery and expansive mountain views along nearly the entire trail.

We went up to see the overlook of Adams Lake which is awesome and some really cool views. Most of the trail is fairly easy with a couple rock ledges and it is kind of tight through the trees where a full size rig might struggle. What makes this trail rating so high is the rock obstacle on the climb. The rock slab gets up to about 27 degrees but has tons of grip. The ledges at the top of the rock slab are tough and way bigger in person that in the pics. We came into it in 4H but stalled out. Switched it to 4lo and crawled up it. I could see some vehicles needing lockers for this obstacle. Great Trail all around.
