Trail Overview

FS 717F is one of the harder and rockier ATV trails in the North Divide Offroad - Vehicle Area. Unlike many of the easy, flowy trails, this one has a few moderate obstacles, including rock ledges, narrow off-camber slopes, and rutted sections with loose rocks. The beginning and end are more gradual, but the middle of the route is a steep and rutted climb through scenic aspen groves, with chunkier embedded boulders and big loose rocks. Expect some roots and narrow sections where the trail has become trenched and dug out between dirt banks, and lots of whoops. The trail rides through a scenic forest setting with giant boulders and ponderosa pine. The south end starts on ATV trail FS 717A, and the north end ends on road 354. It’s a fun and short trail to check out for more experienced riders.
