Trail Overview

BLM 8622 is a desert single track in the McCoy trail system in Colorado that has some trickier rock obstacles. The trail is 1.2 miles but is very curvy and goes up and down a lot over the rolling desert mesas with steep hill climbs and descents. The hill climbs are full of rock ledges, boulders, slab rock, roots, and ruts, and are covered in loose dirt so it's harder to find traction. This trail is slightly harder than most in the trail system because it's so curvy in the tight pinyon pine trees, with bigger obstacles that are covered in loose dirt. You can often pick an easier line on the obstacles since the rock ledges span the width of the wide trail, and there are multiple lines to choose from. The trail also has a lot of big whoops which makes it more tiring.
