Trail Overview
This trail has a narrow, hard-to-see entrance off the paved road, so use caution when entering and exiting. It begins near a parking area for up to 12 vehicles and consists of extremely sandy terrain that can become difficult when wet. At 0.2 miles, a washed-out section creates 15 degrees off-camber terrain and requires at least 16 inches of approach clearance and 4WD. The trail becomes narrow in sections with heavy overhanging branches, making pinstriping highly likely and unsuitable for Sprinter vans. At 0.6 miles, a second rocky obstacle requires 16 inches of approach clearance and 4WD while climbing a steep incline. The trail offers scenic desert and national monument views throughout.
Difficulty
This trail has two technical obstacles requiring 4WD, 16+ inches of approach clearance, steep terrain, and significant off-camber sections. Sandy conditions and narrow, overgrown sections add difficulty and vehicle-clearance concerns.
