BLM 6101

BLM Route 6101 is located within the Penrose Commons Recreation Area outside the town of Penrose, Colorado. As one of the many interconnected trails in the recreation area, it provides access to a network of routes suitable for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts. The trail is open to all classes of OHVs; however, drivers planning to complete the entire route should be prepared for several technical obstacles near the end that typically require a high-clearance 4WD vehicle, low-range gearing, and locking differentials. The trail begins with relatively easy terrain before gradually increasing in difficulty with rocky ledges and more challenging features. There is no fee to access the recreation area, but all OHVs must display a valid Colorado OHV registration or permit. Riders from outside Colorado are required to purchase and display a current Colorado Non-Resident OHV Permit before operating on the trail. The area is closed when mud and weather are present.
