Trail Overview

Experience the beauty and solitude of some of the highest OHV trails in the nation. Spend a few days camping at Baldwin Lakes, known for cutthroat trout. Boulder Mountain is quite narrow and not recommended for ATVs or UTVs. No closures except for snow.

Difficulty

Difficult: Rocky, narrow road suitable for aggressive, high-clearance SUVs with low range and skid plates. Boulder Mountain has two narrow, tippy spots on a shelf road. Oversize vehicles should not attempt. Snow melts late.

We got close to the top of Baldwin Lakes Blouder Mountain trail (heading south) but had to turn around due to a fallen tree.
