Trail reports didn’t do this justice. Trail was smooth for a couple miles, then The uphill was very technical. Very deep ruts and washouts, extremely rocky! Big rocks up to the footpegs in some areas. If you chose a bad line, you were sure to go down on a bike. Momentum was our friend. Unfortunately the uphill burned me out and I got lazy on the way down. Chose a bad line, and bike went down right into a rock. New pipe and clutch handle ordered so I can go get redemption. All in all, it was an absolute blast of a trail

This trail is only technical for a quarter of it. The rest is just dirt roads winding through the hills.

Drove this in my 2017 Lexus Gx460 with 33" tires, stock suspension, RCI steel skids, Lil B front bumper, and cut off steps and rear bumper. The first portion of the trail is totally doable with a stock vehicle. Gets knarly as soon as you hit the first steep hill in the burn area. Definitely didn't realize how difficult a 7/10 rating is, will 100% need high clearance front bumper (at least for a Lexus Gx), full skids (and maybe sliders but I don't have those yet), and probably 33"+ tires. There is a portion around 1/3 to 1/2 way in that's tricky bc the trail is incised and only line to take is through it. I chose not to take any of the bypasses but there are some get-arounds that could make it easier for a less modified vehicle, be aware those are often between trees and can be quite narrow if you are in a full size 4x4. Once you make it up to Killpecker Rd, super easy again and doable by any stock vehicle. Second half driving towards Deadman could be difficult if muddy but it was dry on Labor Day.

Lower section from the Manhattan Road was a graded County Road. Over the top became more challenging with some large rock areas some washout rock areas and frankly just rough.. coming out on the Killpecker side once again was a graded County Road.

Did the east side with my buddies twice. First time was with stock ride height and 31 inch tires. Definitely took a lot of spotting and some bypasses to get through. High centered at one point and hit the diffs a bit. Put on a 3 inch lift and 33s for the next time and it was much easier, no high centering or anything. A lot more smooth with lifted suspension and bigger tires, but a blast nevertheless!

Expect around 5 miles of moderate to difficult rock crawling. Give yourself time and you'll have fun through here! Bypasses are extremely narrow between trees, and I mean INCHES, but are necessary for stock rigs. Sliders and skids a must.
