Trail Overview
The Aspen Loop is a fun 5-mile-long single track that makes a loop off of Divide Road in the Uncompahgre National Forest. It's mostly a fast and flowy trail, not too narrow, with minor features like small embedded rocks, small roots, and potential for downed logs. There are lots of little roots stretched across the trail as it weaves through beautiful aspen groves. You have to watch out for a lot of cut logs sticking out over the trail and downed trees that are lying vertically in the trail pointing at you that you need to avoid. The trail is mostly hardpacked dirt, with a little bit of loose rock and shallow ruts, but is a bit sandy on some of the corners. Parts of the trail are really wide as it goes through beautiful aspen groves that are really pretty in autumn. The trail goes up on a ridge line overlooking the valleys below. This is a really fun one for beginner riders to advance their skills on a single track.
