Trail Overview
This fine-dirt trail follows Wolf Creek through a dense, scenic section of the mountains. The left side is washed out near the beginning, but there is plenty of room to avoid it. Around 0.2 miles, expect an extended rock garden with rocks under 3 inches in diameter. The loose dirt can become considerably more difficult when wet. Camping is abundant, with more than 20 sites offering level ground, fire rings, shade, and access to the creek. Four large sites within the first 0.1 miles accommodate up to six vehicles each, while another around 0.4 miles fits up to eight vehicles. The route offers excellent forest, creek, and mountain views before reaching a land-manager closure around 1.5 miles, where a large shaded campsite accommodates up to eight vehicles with multiple fire rings.
Difficulty
This trail is rated Level 2 because of the minor washout and extended rock garden. There are no significant technical obstacles, making it a relatively easy and scenic route with excellent camping access.
