Trail Overview

This is a point-to-point route running from the main Peckinpah Road, past the Whiskey Falls campground and Whiskey Falls, and out into the Roush Creek area. The trail mostly consists of packed dirt, but also has short stretches of large gravel and asphalt/concrete where runoff water can be present. There is one shallow water crossing area where water flows over a rocky surface. It is wide enough in most places to allow vehicles to pass. Near the halfway point, there is a large dedicated campground situated close to Whiskey Falls. The trail travels through fire-damaged forest in some sections, so be aware of charred, unstable trees and the potential for newly fallen tree obstacles impeding the trail. Dispersed camping is not allowed along this section of the trail, with the exception of the dedicated campground area. There is weak to no cellular phone service in the area and no source of potable water along the trail or at the campground. Tread Lightly and Pack-It-Out.
