Trail Overview

This point-to-point trail starts on Dead Horse Canyon (FS 40N10), beginning and ending within the forest as it runs perpendicular to a set of large power lines. A shelf road section overlooks a small valley along the way, adding a scenic vantage point to the drive. The surface here is dusty dirt covered with a layer of degraded pine needles and wood debris. Overgrown grass fills the median in several stretches, and thick bushes and trees crowd in along parts of the route. Expect to push through them to enjoy this adventure, which will likely leave pinstripes on your vehicle.

Difficulty

This trail carries an easy difficulty rating of 2, with the main considerations being the unavoidable brush contact from overgrown vegetation and navigating the shelf road section above the valley. The dusty, debris-covered surface adds some texture but no major technical obstacles.
