Forgot that I’ve done this before. Very boring “trail” Barely any good views, it’s a fire road that is rough as heck. Encountered some snow and ice in shady areas. I am putting this trail review as a reminder to myself to never do this trail again.

Couple inches of snow on the first half of the trial starting near the lake. Had to put it into 4x4 to keep for sliding around too much. Other than that it was very easy. Snow had melted away by the time we got around the lookout point. Definitely wouldn’t need 4x4 if it was dry. Beautiful day!

One of the best trails in NorCal insane view throughout and not much traffic saw maybe 2 trucks literally everything you could ask for in a trail, rocky roads, incline and maybe like 2 technical spots but they are super easy did majority of the trail in 2wd.

Trail was very easy all the way to big valley bluff lookout. Beyond that (private property) there’s still some snow on the ground. The national park side should be dry. Recommend high clearance vehicles.

My first time, ever, in all my 62 years, driving in snow.  The snow was deep and soft and loose, which made for a very different driving experience than I have previously had.

The drive was worth it for the lookout. Will go back to camp at the top at some point. No fun driving features - pretty much a fire road with beautiful terrain towards the top & great views at the top.

Beautiful day. Only saw one other vehicle who I leap frogged a couple times. It was a little dusty but overall really quiet and easy driving. Lots of sugar pine cones hanging high up. I wish I brought a box to put them in because I got sap all over my cargo area.
