Trail Overview
Taylor Creek is a fun single track that starts near the Four Corners Trailhead in the Mount Hough trail system. It winds for 5.6 miles through the low alpine hills, gradually ascending over 1,600 feet elevation from south to north. A majority of the trail is fast and flowy with tight curves through the trees, but there are some moderate features that elevate the difficulty a bit. This includes a few embedded rock features, including big embedded boulders that you have to weave through or ride over, and a blunt ledge less than a foot tall. It does a lot of shelfy side-hilling on a narrow trail, and it goes past really scenic mossy rock outcroppings. The dirt here can get pretty slick when wet, but it’s a pretty dry forest of Jeffrey Pines, black oaks and manzanitas.
Difficulty
This is an intermediate trail due to several embedded rock features throughout the route. It’s also narrow and shelfy in sections with tight turns, that make this better for slightly more experienced riders.
