Trail Overview

Soda Springs Road is a minimally maintained dirt road that starts at the junction of Foresthill Rd, Soda Springs Road, and Mosquito Road. There are spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada along the trail that winds through tall pines and across several seasonal water crossings. The road is mostly two-car wide but occasionally single wide. Mile markers are spray-painted on trees marking the distance from Serene Lakes to Robinson Flat (as you take Foresthill Road). Some rocky and narrow sections, but mostly very easy. Recommend an All Wheel Drive vehicle at a minimum. On the Serene Lakes side to the East, there are cabins. Please be respectful and move slowly to protect children and animals and keep the dust to a minimum.
