Trail Overview
This is a short but challenging single-track trail that will climb about 400 ft from Keyesville Road up to a scenic viewpoint overlooking Lake Isabella. There are several short rocky climbs along the way, including one section halfway up where one of two optional hard obstacles can be attempted or bypassed using a side trail. The trail flattens out near the top and runs along the east ridge overlooking the lake. It eventually merges with a dirt road in a section of Sequoia National Forest that leads down to the Pioneer Point campground near Highway 155. A Green Sticker permit is required for dirt bikes. The trail is open all year. Tread Lightly and Pack-It-Out.
Difficulty
The majority of this trail is a narrow single-track on packed dirt. There are several short stretches where the trail climbs up rutted and rocky surfaces. The hardest one of these climbs is a five-foot-high rock wall, but there is an easier bypass that can be taken to avoid it. Places where the trail is wide enough to let others pass are infrequent, so keep an eye on the trail ahead.
