Trail Overview

This is a less often traveled trail close to Burns Canyon and 18. Although there are not any vistas, there are a few points to stop and enjoy the solitude. The section closest to Burns Canyon contains some jagged rocky sections on a grade that might intimidate a novice driver, but a little confidence and route planning makes easy work of it.

Most of the trail was super easy, except for the last part of the trail. There is a rocky hill climb. Any stock 4 x 4 truck or SUV with a decent amount of ground clearance should be able to make it up, even for a beginner.

This trail is absolutely mis-classified as a "green" right now, as of conditions today. This is mid-to-high blue at least. Long stretches are very rocky, combined with ruts, off camber surfaces and including some inclines. Some parts of the trail are very easy and green, but there are several stretches that are way more challenging. More so than several blue trails in the area we rode on the same day. Only trail more challenging we hit was John Bull (black diamond). (Sorry, no pictures - it was kinda late and we just wanted to get to our trucks!)

One of the few trails around here where you can actually use your SXS. It's fun you can get some speed in the beginning, then it turns into a rocky trail, not difficult would say but fun. to get to the trail, you would have to go to stage area it's about a mile maybe a bit more of dirt road. Most of the others trails are not green sticker legal around here. ONX should get that fixed so we don't lose so much time trying to find a trail we can actually use.

It would be nice if someone would let you know that you gotta drive about a mile in before you can reach the staging area it's misleading on the map. Other than that it's a nice trail.

There are a lot of exposed rocks and ruts. You will need a 4x4 with high clearance. If you’re traveling from West to East/ North to South, you will encounter some rock crawling sections. It would be wise to bring a friend as a spot, or choose your lines very carefully. Skid plates are recommended just in case your line is not optimal.

The rocks on the trail are extremely exposed compared to past seasons. Some big rock ledges you need to go over. I would rate the trail a 4.

The part of this trail furthest from the road needs high clearance. The remainder of the trail is very mellow. If you are coming from the road you will be fine until you hit the grade. If you are taking this back to the road from the eye of god trail beware that you will be met with some rock crawling when going down the grade.

Great trail. The entry to cactus flats is deteriorated. Only recommended for high clearance. Sandy section are great. Pass needed

This trail was rated EASY which should suffice for a Subaru Outback. IT WAS NOT EASY! We came off of 2N02 which was rated moderate and 3N03 is way more difficult with sections of full rock climbs. I would say only thr last 2-3 miles before HWY 18 is the only easy spot.
