Trail Overview

Roadrunner Trail is an easy 2.56-mile Green Circle route in the Hungry Valley SVRA. It starts at a signed trailhead gate off Gold Hill Road and climbs gently north into a wide sand wash through open desert. The trail is open to full-size 4x4 and side-by-side rigs, quads, and dirt bikes, with soft sand and mild ruts the only real challenge. It stays scenic and low-stress the whole way and links into the surrounding moto and ATV network at the north end. Semi-developed campgrounds sit nearby along Gold Hill Road with shade ramadas, picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets.

Difficulty

Rated Green Circle, Level 2, Roadrunner Trail stays approachable for beginner and intermediate riders. The main challenge is the soft, deep sand through the wash sections, which can grab tires and sap momentum, so steady throttle and a little float help. Grades stay gentle, and there are no rock obstacles or shelf exposure; a high-clearance 4x4, side-by-side, quad, or dirt bike will all handle it comfortably. Mild ruts and the deep sand are the only real surprises.
