Trail Overview

This loop is the second half of this out-and-back OHV trail. It's open to all types: 4X4's down to dirt bikes. The trail itself offers a little bit of everything from rocky sections, to ruts, to puddle (water) crossings, to a handful of short steep grades. Some of the puddles were deeper than others. The trail may become more challenging in wet/rain conditions. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, with chances of spotting wildlife. The Kernan Cycle Trail connects between this loop and Corral Canyon Road (5.6 miles).

Fun loop to jump on while completing Bear Valley Road. Tight trail with some places to pass. Some decent inclines and small obstacles. Old man made structures found along the trail.

Very dusty with difficulty seeing trail during sun up. Mildly rocky with lots of good pullouts for taking a break. Some bikes on trail and a couple other vehicles, but not too much.

Relaxed day only a few other people we saw on the trail. Got some snow/rain/sleet on the eastern facing side of the trail. We were a little bummed that we couldn't connect the trail back to Corral Canyon (Kernan is single track only). So only able to do the full loop on dirt bike or quad.

First time on this trail. Overall was very dry and well maintained. There was just one section which was very rutted and a bit soft, looked my a muddy section which quickly dried and cracked due to the heat wave. This section was on the east side of the loop close to the connector to the Bear Valley Loop.

Thought trail would be fun with all the recent rain, but when I showed up the gate was closed. People were taking dirt bikes and 4 wheelers up through the narrow side entrance. They were saying water was waist deep * in some areas. Going to try and come back next week
