Lodge Pine - FS 42N79

This short trail connects White Deer Lake West - FS 41N40 with White Deer - FS 42N78, cutting through a very young, new-growth pine forest within the Shasta National Forest. As the trail name suggests, lodgepole pine trees make up most of the new growth here. A few sections narrow considerably as small pine trees encroach on the trail, so expect pinstripes through those stretches. The trail surface is dusty dirt and stays one vehicle wide, with some grasses growing in the median. Low-hanging branches also create clearance concerns in places, so taller vehicles should stay alert.
