his 2-mile point-to-point trail serves as a connective route between the False Gap (FS43N51) trail and the Baird Springs (FS43N02) area. Situated within the Klamath National Forest, this route lies deep within the footprint of the 2021 Antelope Forest Fire. While the Forest Service has conducted initial cleanup and remediation, the landscape remains raw and in a state of flux. Despite the stark reality of the burn, the trail offers moments of natural beauty, with seasonal wildflowers blooming in the meadows where the canopy has opened up. Wildlife is active here; keep a close watch for deer, which are frequently seen foraging throughout the area.

The trail surface remains slightly bumpy from post-fire shifting, and you should expect a variety of technical challenges, including ruts, off-camber sections, holes, and rock steps—all generally under 12 inches deep. The path is narrow and can be tight, with overgrown brush in the center median requiring careful line selection to avoid undercarriage impact. Additionally, taller vehicles must account for low-hanging branches throughout the route, which may necessitate careful navigation to prevent vehicle damage.
