Trail Overview

This is a relatively easy scenic drive down Forest Route 6N04, also known as Leona Divide. It can be run in both directions, beginning at either the trailhead on Bouquet Canyon Road or San Francisquito Canyon Road. There are quite a few scenic overlooks, switchbacks and steep climbs and descents. This can be run in 2WD, but drivers can use 4H if it makes them comfortable.

Not bad, easy for a stock truck. Some parts are washed out but really no big deal.

Portions of this trail is pretty badly damaged still from the rain, parts of the trail are also overgrown so if you don’t mind your car getting scratched then I would wait or bring something to cut it down. Entered from Grand Mountain Leona Divide Truck Trail

Fun trail! Simple enough for a newbie like me. Used this as a connector route from a Lake Hughes entry point to get back to Palmdale area passing through Grass Valley. Defiantly the most challenging stretch of the trails that we did in this area but would definitely do it again. Take it slow, watch the wheel alignment, and have fun! There’s a few good pull-off spots for a view, and a fun bench to sit at that overlooks the hills and towns below, near the Lincoln Crest exit of the trail. We traveled this from NW -> SE direction and saw a few hikers but no oncoming vehicles. Had a great time, highly recommend for a challenge! Watch out from some of the deep ruts from rainy weather a few weeks ago

Trail would normally be a 3/10, but with the recent rains id have to rate it a 6/10 difficulty. It’s open but use caution. Sandy, dusty, rutted out in a lot of places. No mud or extreme dangers. Very steep inclines and declines with winding bends. Take it slow, but have fun! No rush. I did it on a BMW 310Gs adventure motorcycle and was pretty much standing 80% of the time. Doable, just use caution in the ruts and sands.

Rain has caused some minor damage on trail. Still traversable for any vehicle with decent ground clearance. Rough in some spots. Few spots with boulders that fell onto the road due to the heavy rain recently.

Trail was simple and well maintained, great views overlooking Bouquet reservoir about midway through the trail. I would recommend taking Tule to the midway point then turning onto Leona Divide which makes for a much longer ride with some technical points added in.

Ez trail with nice views. I think most of this trail can be done with a 2wd. Took me about an hour to complete and I stopped quite a few times.

We did this trail right after doing the Sierra Pelona Ridge trail. This trail was very easy. It was literally a long dirt road with turns. It was really fun with nice views, but nothing complicated. It took us about 1 hour to finish.
