Trail Overview

The Guacamole trail can be run in either direction with roughly the same level of difficulty. On the lower side, you’ll encounter a squeeze rock section, which is likely the most challenging mandatory obstacle on the trail. While there are several larger rocks and a three-foot waterfall to navigate, bypasses have been established around most of the harder obstacles. Approaching from the upper side, a small group of rocks creates a series of step-ups. These serve as the 'gatekeeper' for this entrance; however, they are relatively manageable compared to other popular trails in the area. This is an excellent route for smaller rigs that aren't quite ready for the more extreme 'Hammer' trails in Johnson Valley.

Difficulty

The 'pinch' at the lower end and the 'series of steps' at the upper end are the two most difficult obstacles on the trail. If you are unsure of your line, it is highly recommended to scout these sections on foot before you attempt to run them. Since both obstacles act as the trail’s gatekeepers, successfully clearing them typically means your rig can handle the rest of the route without issue.
