Trail Overview

FS 822 starts from its north end, immediately descending gradually for the first 100 yards. The surface is primarily dominated by loose rock, though it transitions into more embedded, solid rock farther along the trail. While mostly straightforward, there is one section where additional ground clearance is highly recommended to avoid scraping. On the south end of the trail, about 100 feet in, there is a single dispersed campsite that can accommodate two vehicles, though it lacks any views or notable features. The primary point of interest is a large, scenic meadow located on the north end of the track.

Difficulty

The trail earns a Level 2 rating due to the constant presence of loose and embedded rock, combined with tighter tree sections and low overhead branches. One specific rocky section will require additional ground clearance to safely navigate.
