Trail Overview
This narrow, fine-dirt trail has little room for vehicles to pass and becomes significantly rockier after 1 mile, with frequent rock gardens containing 1–5 inch rocks. Farther along, expect numerous rock ledges reaching 12–14 inches tall. 4WD or AWD is highly recommended, along with good tires and airing down for improved traction. Camping is abundant throughout the route, ranging from small, shaded two-vehicle sites to large group sites. Notable campsites include a 20-vehicle site around 0.25 miles with multiple fire rings, an eight-vehicle site around 2 miles, and a large lakeside site around 2.9 miles accommodating 15–20 vehicles or multiple fifth wheels and campers. Many sites offer level ground, shade, and privacy among the trees.
Difficulty
This trail is rated Level 3 because of the numerous 12–14 inch rock ledges, extensive rock gardens, and narrow terrain. 4WD or AWD, good tires, and airing down are highly recommended for the rockier sections.
