Trail Overview
This narrow, fine-dirt trail has occasional pullouts for passing and travels through a unique landscape filled with large boulders and impressive rock formations. Ruts begin around 4–6 inches deep, with numerous rocks protruding 6–8 inches above the surface. The loose dirt can become considerably more difficult when wet.
Camping is plentiful, including a shaded three-vehicle site with a large fire ring within the first 20 yards, a two-vehicle site around 0.3 miles, and a larger site around 0.9 miles accommodating up to eight vehicles with multiple fire rings. Be aware that this route connects directly to a Level 6 trail; drivers who do not want to tackle Level 6 terrain should turn around and return to the main road.
Difficulty
This trail is rated Level 2 because of the 4–6 inch ruts, 6–8 inch protruding rocks, and narrow terrain. There are no major technical obstacles on this section, but drivers should be prepared to turn around before continuing onto the Level 6 route.
