Trail Overview
This longer trail travels up and over the hills with little room for vehicles to pass. Frequent rock gardens contain 3–6-inch rocks, with ruts reaching around 8 inches deep and multiple 2–3-foot whoops requiring approximately 12 inches of front-end approach clearance. Around 3.8 miles, the terrain becomes more challenging as ruts and washouts deepen to 18–24 inches. The route offers expansive scenic views throughout the hills. Around 4.3 miles, there are more than six large campsites offering level ground, privacy, full shade, and individual fire rings. The final section transitions briefly onto pavement near the Niagara OHV Campground.
Difficulty
This trail is rated Level 3 because of the frequent rock gardens, large whoops, and deeper 18–24-inch ruts and washouts. Approximately 12 inches of front-end approach clearance is recommended for the larger whoops and rougher sections.
