Trail Overview
This relatively flat trail starts just off Owens River Road. The surface is sandy and runs through an area with lots of pine trees and some brush. The trail starts off very wide, over two vehicles wide, making navigation easy in the beginning. Just after the half-mile mark, the trail starts dropping down into a valley where you'll encounter lots of ruts, whoops, washboards, and uneven surfaces due to heavy side-by-side use. The trail enters a meadow before heading back into the forest, where it narrows to one vehicle wide and is lined with thick brush. Wide vehicles may get pinstripes in this section. This is a very popular dispersed camping area with many campsites scattered throughout.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail overall, though the section dropping into the valley has more character due to heavy OHV traffic. The ruts, whoops, and washboards are manageable but will shake things up a bit. The narrow forest section at the end requires attention to avoid brush contact, especially for wider rigs.
