Trail Overview

This short, scenic trail is generally easy to drive and accessible to all vehicles, though one section has a particularly high center median. To avoid bottoming out, keep the raised median beneath either your left or right tires, depending on your direction of travel. The road can also be very dusty, and branches near the end may cause pinstriping, especially when approaching the large group campsite. Two camping options line the route: a simple pull-in spot and a spacious group campsite with a beautiful fire ring in a gorgeous setting. The area is part of a wildlife refuge, where hunting, shooting, and firearms are prohibited. The protected setting makes it a pleasant place to enjoy the surrounding wildlife. During autumn, the fall colors are especially stunning, adding to the appeal of this peaceful getaway. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid California ATV Operating Permit sticker.
