Trail Overview

This 2.5-mile point-to-point Forest Service road climbs 150 feet and drops over 300 feet from Wickie Up Road (FS 1S11) to FS 1S45. This fun-to-drive trail is made of sand and pumice, winding through a pine forest lined with sagebrush and trees. The trail is just larger than one vehicle wide, with a few signs of small forest fires along the way. After mile one coming from the south, the Eastern Sierra mountains, including Mammoth Mountain, peak through the trees. Mono Lake also eventually pops out through the trees. At mile 1, the trail turns eastward and heads up the hill. Be fully aware of seasonal fire restrictions in this area. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as hawks and coyotes.
