Trail Overview
FS 1S41A is a two-way dirt spur branching off of FS 1S41, running about half a mile through relatively flat terrain before opening into a grassy hillside with wide views. A deep, 18-inch rut splits the track in two near the start, though it's easily crossed, and minor ruts continue through the first quarter mile. Beyond that stretch, the trail opens into open grassland with few suitable dispersed camping spots and no designated turnaround at its end, so backtracking requires some caution. Similar trails in the area close seasonally from December 15 to April 15. Best driven in spring and summer.
Difficulty
FS 1S41A's main obstacle is a deep, roughly 18-inch rut near the start that splits the track in two, though it's easily crossed without much difficulty. Some additional minor ruts continue through the first quarter mile before the trail opens into flat, grassy terrain that requires no special technique. Overall, the obstacles here are minor and manageable for most vehicles with adequate clearance.
