Trail Overview
This wide, fine red-dirt trail begins with a steep hill climb and ruts reaching 4–5 inches deep. The loose surface can become considerably more difficult when wet, and 4WD or AWD is recommended for additional traction while climbing. There is enough room for vehicles to pass, and there are no significant obstacles along the route. The hillside setting provides expansive views of the surrounding forest and mountains throughout the climb. After traveling up and over the hill, the route connects to numerous other trails and camping areas, making it an easy and scenic option for those staying at the nearby campground or exploring the surrounding forest.
Difficulty
This trail is rated Level 2 because of the steep hill climb, loose dirt, and 4–5 inch ruts. There are no significant technical obstacles, but 4WD or AWD is recommended due to the loose surface and elevation gain.
