Trail Overview
FS 1S20Y branches off the main FS 1S96 road and serves as the access point for a couple of other trails further along its length. The route is a single lane of packed dirt that gently rises and dips through open, quiet forest. Partway in, it drops down into a small meadow before climbing back up the far side on a bit of a rougher incline. Along this stretch, the brush closes in a little tighter on both sides, enough to lightly brush the sides of the vehicle in a few spots. The climb itself stays rocky and slow rather than technical, nothing that feels overly intimidating, though it likely marks the upper edge of what an easier, lower clearance vehicle could comfortably handle. Best time to visit is spring through summer, once the ground has firmed up.

FS 1S20Y stays mild for most of its short length, but the far side of the meadow crossing brings the trail's toughest stretch, a slow, rocky climb where the brush narrows in and lightly brushes the vehicle on both sides. None of it is technical or intimidating, just a bit more deliberate than the rest of the drive, and it's likely close to the upper limit of what an easier, lower clearance vehicle could manage comfortably.
