Trail Overview

This 2.88-mile point-to-point trail climbs 697 feet from Highway 120 to the Pilot Springs Road and Crooked Meadow Road West junction. Coming from the north off Highway 120, the sand and pumice trail is two vehicles wide and relatively smooth with lots of washboards throughout. The seasonally graded track starts in an open meadow before entering a pine forest as you climb. Watch out for wildlife, including mule deer, wild mustangs, and hawks, as you drive through this scenic area. This trail provides good access to other trails in the region.
