Trail Overview

This 4.55-mile point-to-point trail connects Highway 120 to Bald Mountain Road, climbing almost 150 feet and dropping over 370 feet. The sand and gravel surface is 1.5 vehicles wide as a main trail that's seasonally graded. Coming from Highway 120, there's a huge open meadow, a great spot to stop for a picnic or camp. After the turn toward Bald Mountain, the surface turns more to sand and dirt, which is relatively flat with some roots, and the trail narrows to one vehicle wide. The Eastern Sierra mountains pop through the trees at times as you drive.
