FS 1S148

This 1.74-mile point-to-point north-to-south trail near Bald Mountain starts and ends on FS 1S02. The trail drops almost 300 feet, depending on which direction you travel. Made of sand and pumice with some deep sand areas, it winds through a relatively new forest with signs of previous forest fires scattered throughout the landscape. This trail is one among many that is fun to explore after getting out to Bald Mountain, offering a nice change of scenery. Coming from the south, almost immediately, there are a couple of downed trees that are easily maneuvered around without much trouble.
