Trail Overview
Evans Flat (FS 32E53A) runs north to south from Evans Flat Campground, tracing a ridgetop course through the thick Sequoia National Forest. The dense canopy closes in along much of the route, with low-hanging branches posing a challenge for taller vehicles. A wide shelf road section opens up the scenery with views of the Greenhorn Mountains as the trail works its way south along the ridge. Seasonal wildflowers bloom along the route when conditions are right, adding a welcome splash of color to the forest setting.

Difficulty
Ruts, off-camber sections, softer sand, and whoop sections appear throughout, all under 12 inches deep. A few short steep hills add to the challenge. The dirt surface can become very muddy when wet, significantly increasing difficulty after rain or snow melt. High clearance 4x4 is recommended. Wide vehicles should be aware of the cut downed tree sections, which may be a squeeze.
