Trail Overview

Brown's Mill (FS 26S04) departs from Rancheria Road South and winds through a thick stand of pine and other trees within Sequoia National Forest. A partial shelf road section opens up views of the valleys below and the mountains in the distance before the forest closes back in. Downed branches are present along the trail, but are easily maneuvered around. Ground birds, including quail, pheasant, and partridge, are frequently spotted along the corridor.

Difficulty

The hard-packed dirt surface is smooth throughout, with ruts under 6 inches appearing in sections. No significant technical obstacles are present beyond the light ruts and occasional downed branches, making this an accessible and relaxed drive through the forest under dry conditions.
