Trail Overview

This trail takes you to about 6,200 feet to the Eagle Rock! The trail up is steep and rocky and even covered in pine needles, but it is worth it! The view at the top is of Tahoe and Highway 50 below and is an awesome end to the trail. There is camping along the way, but be cognizant of the area--it is in the recent burn and there are lots of burnt, hazardous trees!

Difficulty

This trail is steep and loose! 4x4 is needed and a rear locker is recommended. There are larger and smaller rocks throughout as well as mud and ruts. When you get to the top, there is really only room for 2 rigs to turn around, so be mindful.

Fire roads until the last part where it gets narrow and then real steep. Recommend a locker in the read for the rocky section.

Did it on 2wd the whole way, very dusty, some rutted areas and some uphill climb towards the end. Nothing too bad. Very doable in 2wd

The first 90% of the trail from Silver Fork road is super smooth and easy. The last 10% is really steep, and is loose sand in some spots and really rocky in others. I drove up it in my stock Range Rover on 31" ATs, but there were a couple spots that were close to the limit of what I would want to drive it up.

The top is very steep and there is a fork. To the left is very sandy and to the right was easier. A downed tree needed to be driven over, I didn’t have my saw to cut it. 33’s and sliders and rolled over everything easily. Didn’t need the sliders.

First time to this trail didn’t get to explore all of it but every tree that was down was cut out of the way. Some slightly tight areas but my full sized truck had no problems getting through the area. I figured I explored 3/5 of the area according to my map. However there was more smaller trails not noted on the map that we didn’t get to explore all of if at all. Some areas no one has really been through in awhile.
