Trail Overview
This is a single-track trail limited to dirt bike use. It climbs more than 2000 ft over 3.5 miles from Keyesville Rd to the upper areas of the Keyesville Special Recreation Area. Along the route, there are a number of short- to medium-length (20-200 yd) climbs/descents, depending on the direction ridden, that have loose soil, embedded rocks, ruts, and larger rocks/boulders to overcome with no bypasses. These challenges are interspersed with flat stretches that are fast and flowy and have occasional small whoops. Views of the area are terrific from the upper portion of the trail and make the riding challenges worth the effort. A Green Sticker permit is required for dirt bikes. The trail is open all year. Tread Lightly and Pack-It-Out.
Difficulty
The trail consists primarily of packed dirt with occasional stretches of loose soil and embedded rocks. There are numerous short- to medium-length climbs/descents, some of which pass over rocky ledges or large boulders with no easier bypass. Spots to allow others to pass and shady spots to get out of the sun are infrequent. The trail will traverse several steep sidehills and ridges, but also has flat stretches with occasional whoops.
