Trail Overview
This trail starts just off Dump Wash Trail and runs through a fairly wide wash, though the actual track is only 1 to 1.5 vehicles wide. The route is lined with mud walls, many of which have collapsed, creating obstacles and navigation challenges. Although the trail goes for miles, it is shortened because of private land restricting further access. The surface is very fine sand, which can be deep in some sections, demanding constant momentum management. Always be aware of the weather as this wash is pretty deep in and far away from any main road, making it a remote location where flash floods would be particularly dangerous and escape routes limited.
Difficulty
This trail requires four wheel drive and high clearance with good tires, which are highly recommended for navigating the very fine, deep sand. Airing down is essential for maintaining traction. The collapsed mud walls create obstacles that require careful navigation and possibly alternate lines. The remote location and distance from main roads add a safety consideration beyond just technical difficulty. Weather awareness is critical.
