Trail Overview

This is a fantastic, scenic through-trail that begins exactly where the Crowley Lake Drive pavement ends, serving as a highly convenient and direct connection to FS 4S54 and 30E303. As you transition onto the dirt, the landscape opens up beautifully, offering expansive views of picturesque surroundings dotted with vibrant, green sagebrush and scattered pine trees. Along the journey, you will notice wooden powerline poles following the route and wide-open skies that make for a truly peaceful outdoor drive. The trail itself is a mellow, winding dirt road generously peppered with small, loose rocks and patches of mild sand. In the middle of the route, you will encounter a distinct section of old, broken pavement, featuring heavily cracked asphalt and scattered chunks of degraded road surface. Fortunately, this transitioning terrain adds a bit of unique visual character and slight texture to the drive, but it introduces absolutely no real technical challenge, allowing you to easily maintain a steady, comfortable momentum throughout the entire scenic passage.

Difficulty

A highly approachable difficulty rating of 2 out of 10 is the absolute perfect fit for this consistent, easygoing route. The driving surface primarily consists of a firm dirt track lightly mixed with mild sand and small, scattered rocks. While the unique section of broken, cracked pavement in the middle adds a noticeably bumpy texture to the ride, it is incredibly mild and exceptionally easy to navigate. There are absolutely no deep, wash-out ruts, sharp high-clearance boulders, or steep climbs to worry about. By simply maintaining a relaxed, steady pace and utilizing a quality set of all-terrain tires for added peace of mind, your suspension will smoothly absorb the minor bumps, resulting in a wonderful, stress-free adventure.
