Trail Overview

This trail is a short connector and gatekeeper to Del Sur Ridge 6N18. A couple of points feature nice views of surrounding canyons and chaparral. Deep ruts and erosion give this trail a bit of difficulty, and high clearance is strongly recommended. To prevent damage, avoid this trail after moderate to heavy rainfall. This trail may continue past the intersection with Del Sur Ridge, but it is not shown on Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Maps beyond that point.

Difficulty

Most of this trail is easily drivable. Some sections feature deep ruts and mud, others are significantly eroded and off-camber. High clearance, 4WD, and good tires are strongly recommended. Airing down is not necessary but will make for a more comfortable ride.

Mud and pools of water at lower elevations, deep and muddy enough to potentially get you stuck. Be prepared.

Started from the Del Sur Ridge; rode it the whole way. Passed two people on motor bikes and two jeeps later in the evening. Took me about 3hrs to complete. Was a fun ride. Some parts more difficult than others, but manageable for high clearance vehicles.

Most of the trail is easy enough for a 2WD vehicle but some sections are rutted out requiring either good suspension travel or 4WD. There are optional offshoots for those looking for a more technical challenge but if you stay on the main road a stock 4WD can complete the trail.
