Trail Overview

As of May 26, 2023. This road is accessible by vehicles of higher clearance than sedans. This is due to the fire road are not as flat and maintained as Google Maps makes it out to be. When driving on the road, there will be moderately size ruts, and bumps running across the width of the road due to some water erosion. 2wd SUVs as well as higher clearance Subarus can access this trail. The beginning of the trail will be a well-maintained gravel road but turns into a stretch of road littered with moderate-sized ruts and potholes throughout the width of the road. You will be swaying back and forth when going over them. Some sections will be worn down due to use, so expect rough and uneven roads with higher-centered roads. Near the end of this trail will have roads made of baseball-sized rocks. This road will be accessible with 2wd, 4wd is not needed. Driving through this road with a sedan may cause the vehicle to be high-centered, so it is not recommended. Multiple sedans were seen parked in turnout areas. Sections of the road with less gravel will have high levels of dust that will be kicked up by other vehicles. When driving through the area, the beginning section will be shaded by tall trees. As you make it out of the brush, shad will be sparse as you will be driving cliffside.

My AWD impreza did fine. Completely stock except for some cross climate v2 tires.

Easy in the first 1/2mi with loose dirt and rocks. Then has some water and mud holes. Not deep but had uneven areas. A good line and any car with some decent clearance can get through. 2WD the entire time.

Couple puddles and stuff a lower truck wouldn’t make but pretty easily accessible to most stuff. Only took a few minutes and the view was definitely worth it

Trail was dusty and bit overgrown/deteriorated for the big rain/snow we had this year. There are two spots where the ruts/washouts are very large/deep, regular cars/suv might get high centered/stuck. Overall very fun and beautiful on a early Friday afternoon. Watch for mountain bikers/hikers.
