Trail Overview
This trail starts with a steep, sandy ramp up from BLM 194 SE that gets your attention right away. Once up on the plateau, the surface is hard packed sand lined with creosote bushes throughout. You'll encounter lots of washboards and lots of whoops creating a very bouncy, jarring ride. The Fish Creek Mountains, Superstition Mountain, and other ranges surround you providing panoramic views in all directions. The trail goes in and out of various washes, with some featuring steep angles that demand careful approach and skilled driving.
Difficulty
The steep, sandy ramp up from BLM 194 SE is an immediate challenge requiring momentum and good traction. Four wheel drive and airing down are recommended for this entrance. The lots of washboards and lots of whoops create a very bumpy ride throughout that will test your suspension constantly. The goes in and out of various washes with some steep angles are technical challenges requiring high clearance and careful line choice. The combination of features makes this a demanding route.
