Trail Overview
This medium-sized, very sandy wash runs north to south, starting on the north side at the edge of a private land boundary. The route cuts through BLM 075, BLM 077, BLM 078, and ends on BLM 085 West. You'll encounter some very deep sand, ruts, and off-camber sections throughou,t with some sand walls lining the wash. There are small step ramps up to 18 inches and washboards scattered along the way. You'll enjoy nice views of the Fish Lake Mountains as you navigate this very fun wash to run. After 3.1 miles, the main wash continues on BLM 082 while BLM 081 maneuvers and becomes a very small trail. This new trail features very fine white sand and cuts through a new area of many desert bushes and seasonal wildflowers, but it abruptly ends. There is a new alternative route now that brings you to a wash that reconnects with the trail. The new trail cuts you across the plateau and down into another very wide wash heading south, then enters a very small wash with 3-foot mud walls that has been remarked by the BLM, comes out of the wash, and reconnects to the original trail at Fish Creek Wash. The trail gets much rockier with debris as you reach the southern end.
Difficulty
Good tires, airing down, and four wheel drive are all highly recommended for this wash. The very deep sand sections require constant momentum management. The ruts, off-camber sections, and small step ramps up to 18 inches create technical challenges throughout. The new alternative route section, with very fine white sand and the small wash with 3-foot mud walls, adds complexity. The rocky debris at the southern end changes the character significantly.
