Trail Overview
Officially, this is an out-and-back trail that starts just off BLM 201 on the west side. The surface is hard-packed sand and relatively smooth, making for comfortable navigation. You'll enjoy good views of Superstition Mountain as well as Fish Lake Mountain throughout the route. The trail could be hard to find after winds and storms have reset the trail surfaces, as very few people use some of these trails. Look for the trail markers to stay on course in areas where the surface has been wiped clean by weather events.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail with good surface conditions on hard pack sand. The relatively smooth surface makes driving straightforward. The main challenge is navigation, as winds and storms can reset the trail surface, making it hard to follow. Looking for trail markers and paying close attention to terrain features is essential. The light use means tracks may be faint or nonexistent in sections.
