Trail Overview
This is an intensely scenic, short climb designed for the thrill of the ascent, but it ends abruptly, partially along a ridge with limited turnaround space. The trail is a steep, loose two-track composed of dirt, chunky rock, and decomposed granite that constantly challenges traction and requires focused throttle control. The entire route offers dramatic, exposed views because it runs through the high-severity burn scar of the 2020 Creek Wildfire. This extreme environment means the trail is littered with deadfall, and the entire ridge is a high-risk area for falling snags. Be ready for a slow, cautious turnaround at the terminus, as anything larger than a mid-size rig will struggle.

Difficulty
This trail earns its rating due to the combined challenge of steep inclines and the low-traction, loose surface material (rock and dirt). 4WD is highly recommended for stability and necessary to prevent tire spin on the climb. Additionally, high clearance is helpful for comfortably navigating the rocky tread and to safely approach the steep, rutted ascent sections without damaging rocker panels or differentials.
