Trail Overview

Starting in Highland, 1n16 is a fairly easy dirt road with some parts rutted out, but any 4x4 can make it through the trail easily. Many parts of the trail are single-vehicle wide, but there are plenty of places to pass along the way. Coming from Highland, the trail ends on 1n16, giving you the choice to exit towards Highway 330 or the longer part of the trail to Seven Oaks and the 38 with more trails connecting up to Big Bear. This trail gives you great views over the Inland Empire and a consistent climb into the San Bernardino mountains for the start of a quick trip up the mountain, or a long day on the trails enjoying the area.

Difficulty

Generally single-vehicle wide with plenty of places to pass. Currently being very rutted out causing any low clearance vehicles to have some problems if choosing a poor line.

The trail entrance was a little difficult to find do to newer home construction. Nonetheless found it and the trail was normal for the area , rutted and rocky. There was a few muddy areas as well . Took the trail to CITY CREEK TRAIL . Found a great lookout spot and setup for some cooking. Booth trails offer just enough to make the drive fun and the views are great . Easy for most vehicles.

Easy trail, perfect for my wife to get her toes wet in off roading. I would think a RWD body on frame truck and a high clearance awd can perform on this trail.

I’m new to this off-road game. This trail was fun and the views were fantastic. The trail was in good condition. Some of the roads were rutted and uneven. Great camping spots along the way, I ended up riding all the way to Bear Creek.

The entrance gate was open but there was sand bags and a paper sign that said closed? All of the gates throughout the trail were open as well. Not sure if it’s truly open or not. Conditions were good and it was an easy trail for a first timer like myself. Once you hit city creek the trail gets a lot smoother but you’ll run into a lot of small water crossings. The gate at city creek was open as well at the 330

Easy trail with great views. Aired down for comfort but 2WD trucks can handle this no problem. You can connect to city creek trail which I did. Go east to link up with Clark’s grade or get out on 38 (City creek trail) or west to get to 330. Nice to see life coming back after the fires.

Gate was open. Burn scar area but some areas are greening up. Only saw one other vehicle. 24 miles took 2.5 hours end to end from Greenspot Rd to Hwy 330.
